<itunes:summary>In Episode VI Part V, the shockwaves caused by the rise of the Jin continue as conflict between opposing interests - Buddhist and Confucian, military and civilian come to a head at court.

Episode VI Part V Historical Figures – In Order of Appearance
The romanization of Korean is a tricky business, especially with the family name 이. In older sources it is often written as Yi or even Rhee but I chose to go with Lee for this list. If you searching for more information about these people and can't find anything I recommend you try spelling their family name as Yi.

Yejong of Goryeo
Lee Ja-gyeom, Patriarch of the Incheon Lee clan.
Injong of Goryeo
Kim Busik, public official and scholar.
Myocheong the Buddhist monk.
Uijong of Goryeo
General Jeong Jung-bu, burn victim and first leader of the War Council
Han Roe, rude civilian official.
General Lee of Jeonju (not related to the Incheon Lee)
Myeongjong of Goryeo
Kim Bo-dang, civilian official and Uijong loyalist.
Cho Ji-wong, leader of the Pyongyang rebellion against the War Council.
General Gyeong Dae-sung, charistmatic young general in the War Council.
General Lee (not related to the Incheon or Jeonju Lee's), son of a slave and leader of the War Council.
General Choi Chung-heon, military dictator of Goryeo.
Shinjong of Goryeo
Slave rebellion leader Manjeok, General Choi Chung-heon's escaped slave.
Temujin, Khan of the Mongols aka Genghis Khan.

I did a better than usual job of butchering Korean names with this show. Kim Busik should be said Kim Bushik. Just like Silla is pronounced Shilla. Also, Pyongyang should be more like Pyongyahng. I've been mucking up Goryeo as well. It's more like Gor-yuh.</itunes:summary>

Inscription from the Seven Branched Sword:
At noon on the sixteenth day of the eleventh month, fourth year of Tae-hwa, the sword was made of 100 times hardened steel. Using the sword repels 100 enemy soldiers. It is sent to the king of a vassal state. Never before has there been such a blade. The crown prince of Baekje's king, who lives under august sounds, had this sword made for King of Wa in the hope that it might be passed on to later generations.</itunes:summary>

note: I was really intent on doing all my own maps for every episode but it is proving to be too daunting of a task that is taking away from work on the podcast itself. "If its not broken don't fix it" definitely applies here, there's no reason for me to redo all these maps when other people have already done such a better job than I could ever do. So for at least the near future I'm just going to be using wiki's maps which are based on Thomas Lessman's fantastic "World History Maps"
